Practice Session from 03-07-06

Agustín Barrios Mangoré:
La Catedral (Prelidio "Saudade")

I never played any Barrios back in school days - so, for me, it's all new!! And La Catedral seems as standard as Limosna as far as CG rep goes -- so I grabbed a copy of the Prelude score from Delcamp and gave it a try.

This is the first recording after playing with it for the last five days (with one day off for sore fingertips -- I think Barrios had a little bit of a sadistic bent goin' on or something). It's mostly in memory but I still have some lapses here and there -- so not really ready to begin trying to really work it -- but this will be my baseline record for this terrific piece.

The second pass from 03-12-06 is WAY better than these...
really - skip these and go watch those


You're not gonna enjoy watching this one - FULL of slips, misses, buzzes and all other manner of failure - I just want it here as my first attempt to play it through.
